Annabel Yates for Studley
Climate action, Integrity & Representation
About Me
Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne. I have lived in Boroondara since 2012. I also worked part-time at a restaurant on High Street, Kew and played AFL for Kew Comets for seven seasons. Recently, I joined Old Xaverians FC.
I finished school in 2018 where I was captain of AFL, cross country and a prefect. In 2019 I worked as a ski instructor in France and Japan, travelling solo in between.
I want to create a better future for my generation. I believe that the best way to make change is to participate in the decisions that shape our society. In running for council I hope to encourage other young people to take responsibility for their future.

As the councillor for Studley Ward I will...
-
Create an opportunity to represent 40% of people in Boroondara under the age of thirty who have no current representation in council.
-
Listen to the people of Studley to understand matters that are important.
-
Ensure authenticity and transparency within council.
Matters that are important to Studley Ward...
-
Helping our local businesses recover from COVID lockdowns.
-
Encouraging active transport within our community through developing bike paths and footpaths.
-
Make Kew library into a co-working space to support students studying online and residents working from home.
-
Stop rate increases by eliminating wasteful spending.
-
Expand green waste disposal to local businesses.
